Logistics Warehouse Supervisor x 5

DAYBREAK FOODS requires the services of a suitably qualified Logistics and Warehouse Supervisor to manage all in-bound and outbound transportation of final products.

Key Performance Areas

Orders / Stock ‍

• Liaise daily with warehouse to ensure current stock levels availability.
• Compile daily reconciliation between outstanding orders vs available stock.
• Liaise with sales department to prioritise orders to be delivered.
• Confirm daily in advance with warehouse on product quantity and availability of product required to dispatch.
• Liaise with Sales and Warehouse Departments to compile a delivery/route schedule to deliver orders within 24 to 48 hours.

Transport

• Maintain a healthy working relationship with service providers.
• Ensure to follow all procedures to make use of an authorised transporter.
• Maintain the best rate, c/kg to deliver to the destinations as per orders received.
• Maintain best pallet spot utilization to achieve above 95% utilization rate per truck.
• Follow all safety procedures to prevent any damages to vehicles during the loading process.  
• Constantly review various KPI`s for example, c/kg, utilization, etc. to ensure highest cost efficiency.
• Minimize all standing times of trucks to prevent standing fees claimed from the transporters and productivity.
• Loading sheet to be completed on a daily basis and constantly monitored to ensure accuracy and best efficiencies.
• Monitor/Control accuracy of transportation rates on the load sheet vs the transporter`s price list.
• Liaise with Pallet Controller on a daily basis to ensure to recover outstanding pallets with the co-operation of the various transporters.
• Ensure all pallet control documentation to be handed to the pallet controller on a daily basis.
• Liaise with Returns Administrator constantly to assist in returning products from customers with the assistance of the various transporters.
• Implement/Monitor all control documents to monitor company owned vehicles for dispatch. (Logbooks, Service Records, etc.)
• Ensure vehicle inspections are conducted, and driver credentials are valid.
• Verify PODs, invoices, and delivery notes for accuracy.
• Debrief transporters and ensure effective communication.
• Provide weekly KPI updates on transport performance.
• Regularly audit vehicle records and documentation for compliance.

Housekeeping

• Monitor daily all processes to meet QA Standards. (Quality & Hygiene)
• Ensure dispatch doors always remain close to maintain temperature.
• Dispatch doors to be locked during weekends and after hours.
• Sufficient lightning installed and in a working condition.
• Dial Type Temperature meters installed and in a working condition to monitor floor temperature.
• No unattended product to be on the floor to minimise the risk of damages, temperature abuse, etc.
• Dispatch floors to always be clean from any obstacles.
• Docking Levels to be in a working condition.
• Clean and washed out underneath the Docking Levels.
• Docking seals to always be in an acceptable condition to control temperature.
• Offices to always be clean and tidy.  
• All relevant filing to be done daily.  
• Ensure seal register to be in place and reconciled on a weekly/monthly basis.

Time Keeping ‍

• Monitor all staff to ensure accurate start and end shift periods.
• Manage Time & Attendance reports and address any deviations daily.
• Monitor/control/investigate all overtime hours worked.
• Sign off on accurate time sheet reports.
• Report any unauthorised time worked.

Discipline

• Ensure a standard measurement of discipline in the working area to be consistent.
• Display the company`s Disciplinary Code on the notice board within the department.
• Follow the Disciplinary Code at all times strictly when applicable.
• Enforce disciplinary action when required.
• Ensure to be fully trained with regards to the disciplinary code.
• Ensure all staff are familiar with the Disciplinary Code.

Education & Experience:

• Matric / Grade 12
• Diploma in Logistics / relevant qualification
• Minimum of 1-year managerial experience
• Minimum of 2 years relevant experience to stock control and stock reconciliation in the FMCG environment
• Supervisory skills to lead multiple shifts
• Understanding of the abattoir/warehouse/dispatch equipment.
• Basic accounting skills
• Computer literacy
